Wherever possible, the artists we bring to Telluride spend time with the kids of our region — workshops, demonstrations, and hands-on time with instruments most students never get to touch.
Why Education
We believe classical music can teach children tools that help them thrive — not just the beauty of music itself, but motivation, creativity, dedication, teamwork, and leadership. Wherever possible, every visiting artist presents a workshop for the kids of our region.
Programs
Michael D. Palm Theatre · with Palm Kidz
In partnership with Palm Kidz at the Michael D. Palm Theatre, we host workshops for children from the Telluride School District. Each session draws between 150 and 300 students and is presented by our world-class visiting artists.
Wilkinson Public Library · Since 2023
A summer collaboration with Wilkinson Public Library — free and open to kids of all ages. Past performers include MusicFest artists and musicians of the New York Philharmonic. A popular addition to summer in town.
Small-group sessions
2026 brings a new collaboration with Telluride Academy. These small-group workshops give kids a closer, more hands-on experience with our visiting artists.
